Cervical spondylosis is a degenerative disease involving the inter-vertebral disc of the neck region. It is the most common cause of chronic neck pain with radiation to arms or trunk. Fourth to seventh cervical vertebrae are usually affected. Wear and tear with ageing or repeated trauma usually precipitates the complaint. The patient presents with neck pain and stiffness, numbness and weakness of the shoulders, hands and fingers. Pain can also be caused due to the wear and tear of the ligaments and tissues in the cervical region. In old age it occurs due to degeneration. It occurs in youngsters as one of main occupational disease due to prolonged working with computers
